Mining and power

Power is the only thing you buy directly. Everything else multiplies it. The result is measured in shards, and shards turn into CROWN through the daily pool.

Shards per hour = power × 300 × (1 + 20% × total building levels) × boosts × depth

Drills: base power

Drill power stacks: buying the iron drill on top of the bronze one gives you 5, not 4. The wooden drill stays in your chest forever and adds its 0.02.

Hired miners: power on top of the drill

Besides drills, base power comes from hired miners: the Hired Miner (+45) and the Master Driller (+100). They are bought in the shop under “Miners”, work next to your drill in the shaft, and their power is multiplied by buildings, boosts and depth the same way. You can hire both, their power adds up.

About payback. Calculated at current competition: 120 miners and 1,028,367 shards per hour in total. Big drills pay back faster than small ones because they cost less per unit of power: the royal one is 70 GRAM for 130 power, the bronze one is 1 GRAM for 1 power. As more players join, income per unit of power falls while prices stay.

Buildings: the speed multiplier

Every level of any building adds +20% mining speed, and levels of all four buildings stack. Upgrades are unlimited, the next level costs linearly more.

The first level of each building was also sold in the presale for GRAM: Mine Shaft — 5 GRAM, Elevator — 10 GRAM, Warehouse — 15 GRAM, Smeltery — 30 GRAM.

Boosts: buy once, keep forever

Boosts never expire and stack with each other: all three together give +60%.

Depth: the deeper you go, the more you mine

Depth is the only multiplier that grows on its own, with nothing to buy. Every 5,000 metres add +5% to shard output, capped at +100% at 100,000 metres. Depth is never reset and is not lost when you close the game.

50,000 m+50%6.43 days16.84 h
100,000 m+100%12.86 days33.67 h

The depth multiplier sits in the shard formula, so it raises your share of the daily CROWN pool. Ore and gold do not depend on depth: they come from the metres you drill and the layer the drill is in.

Descent is computed on the server, the client only draws it. Base speed is 300 m/h, multiplied by the click upgrade (+15% per level) and by mining power (square root of (1 + power ÷ 300)): at power 300 the descent is 1.4× the base, at 1,200 it is 2.2×. Every counted tap adds 1 second of descent; once the daily tap limit is used up, taps no longer move depth. Depth keeps growing with the game closed, within the same window as offline mining: 2 hours by default, auto-mining extends it. Visually the drill slows in rock and ore and speeds up in soil, but over a layer cycle this averages out exactly to the server speed. The “Speed ×N” booster really accelerates the descent while it lasts.

Rock layers

The shaft is made of layers. In empty rock the drill moves faster but yields nothing; in ore and gold layers it is slower but pays.
