Gems
Gems are a rare find, not a consumable. They cannot be bought, they drop only during real mining and will be used for boosts in other games of the ecosystem.

Drop chances
The server rolls the dice, and only when ore or gold was actually credited to you. The chance is per second of mining, so frequent requests cannot speed it up.
| Where you dig | Chance per second | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| Gold vein | 0,028% | about one per hour |
| Iron and ore | 0,006% | one per 4–5 hours |
| Empty rock | 0,0006% | almost never |
Two limiters apply on top: no more than one gem per 1,50 minutes
and no more than 6 gems per day per player.
Offline
Gems also drop while you are away, but far more rarely: about one gem per 50 hours of mining.
The client used to roll the dice and ask the server to credit the result, which let scripts farm gems. Now the client only displays what the server decided.
